In 2002, Charlie Fulton received a female Brittany from his wife Rosemary and their son Jay as a gift to aid in his healing after the loss of their eldest son. Charlie dedicated his time and affection to this dog, named Madison River Girl, or "Maddie." Inspired, Charlie decided to breed these beautiful creatures.
He immersed himself in learning about the American Brittany, constructed a kennel from the ground up, and registered the Brittanys with the AKC. The following year, with the addition of a male Brittany named Gunnison River Boy, known as "Gunner," the kennel commenced operations in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
A heartwarming aspect of our history is that the original bloodline remains in our kennel, complemented by two new bloodlines introduced through meticulous breeding.
In 2010, Stonesriver Kennel moved to its present location in Manchester, Tennessee.
The kennel has since produced numerous accomplished hunting Brittanys, agility champions, and beloved pets. Females are retired at the age of 7 and rehomed, with the exception of Mac & Muffin and Josie, who will stay with us indefinitely.
Charlie spends each morning caring for, and interacting with, the puppies and adult Brittanys, allowing them to run and play in their three enclosed lots. In April 2021, Jay & Cynthia Fulton joined as co-owners alongside Charlie and Rosemary, following Rosemary's stroke and subsequent retirement.
Jay & Cynthia own five Brittanys: a female tri-color and a male liver & white named Zira and Tucker, respectively, who are featured on our website, along with Jessi Maybelle, Hattie Bea and Rocky Top Boy. We understand the charm of a Brittany and invite you to enjoy our website. We look forward to assisting you in finding your forever Brittany companion or hunter from our home.
With Love,
The Fulton Family
